if you are useing avisynth add DirectShowSource("F:\Hybrid\vfr.mp4", fps=119.88, "convertfps=true")
without the "" as it is possible the mkv is set up as a varible frame rate

Encoding with Xilisoft and an .ass file still makes the audio/subs out of sync no matter what I try, unless I hardcode them with handbrake first. I might give ImTOO a go when I get time, ★; Isn't it made by the same people as Xilisoft?

@andrakis2, I don't have much experience with avisynth, maybe you could write a step by step guide? Don't bother if it's too hard.

Also maybe we should take this discussion to a thread specifically for discussing encoding methods, as this is getting pretty off topic.

Avisynth doesn't work with Xilisoft only with ImTOO but you could change the settings by opening the option tab.
